Jun 08 - A big welcome to Pele Nbuyazi. Pele has been working in and around the Lodge for a long time and we are tremendously pleased to have him with us. May 08 - A sad goodbye to Mandla Zikhali who has been with us since Jun 01. Mandla was a very loyal worker and a good friend to Matthew when he first came to Sodwana. We will miss him. Apr 08 - It's welcome back Fanie who worked for us on the beach a couple of years ago and also was one of our main strikers with Home Tigers. Fanie returns as a divemaster and we are very happy he is back with us. Apr 08 - A big welcome to Bee who has joined us from Phinda. Bee will work in the dive shop and we are sure will soon be an invaluable part of our team. Mar 08 - James, who was one of Greg's pioneer divemasters has left to get experience outside of Sodwana. He has been with us since Nov 04 and we are very proud that he left us with a lot more knowledge than he joined. We wish him well and hope he returns one day. Mar 08 - Phila has left and we wish him well. Phila was with us for year and we thank him for his time here. Feb 08 - Sadly Amy has decided to try her luck elsewhere. We will miss her cheery presence and thank her for her excellent work in the dive shop. Jan 08 - A big welcome back to Ben. We are lucky to have him as he is excellent with the customers and has a very professional approach to diving. Nov 07 - Apologies for no stop press for a while - hopefully we will continue from here. Apr 07 - A big welcome back to Jeremy. Universally known as "Gumby" in Sodwana. Jeremy was with us in 2003 and 2004. Jeremy will be an invaluable help to Greg and we are delighted at his return. Feb 07 - Welcome to Phila who has joined us as a skipper. Phila brings a wealth of experience and we are very pleased he has joined our staff. A welcome also to Prince who has overcome many hurdles and we salute his determination. Jan 07 - After having taken a well earned maternity leave Bronwyn has left to pursue other ideas here in Sodwana. Bronwyn has been invaluable in all aspects of our operation varying from hosting turtle tours in the middle of the night to beach control and admin in the dive shop. We certainly wish her the very best in her new ventures and thank her enormously for all her hard work. Jan 07 - A happy New Year to everyone. A big thank you to all our staff and customers for such an enjoyable season Nov 06 - Welcome to Jo who has just started in our dive shop. Jo is also an Instructor and we hope that Jo and Amy enjoy their time with us. Oct 06 - Congratulations to all the new DM's who have now formally received all their paperwork. We are very proud of them Sep 06 - Nina has left to go to Belize - although she was only here a short time we really appreciated her and wish her all the best. Sep 06 - We are extremely sad that Catherine Ntombi Zikhali has passed away. Catherine was married to John and we all send our condolences to John and his family and Ntombi's family at this terrible time. Aug 06 - Welcome to Amy who has replaced Bronwyn in our dive shop. We did inform Amy that the last 2 left because they became pregnant! Aug 06 - Congratulations to Greg and Bronwyn on the birth of their first child - They have a lovely daughter called Lillian July 06 - Bronwyn has left (she was having difficulty fitting under the table) - She will behaving her first baby in August. We wish her and Greg the absolute best. July 06 - We have another skipper. his name is Phila and we give him a big welcome. We hope he will be happy with us here at the Scuba Centre. May 06 - Hello to Nina who has taken over from Tamar. Nina has an excellent diving background and we look forward to her working with us. May 06 - A welcome back to Ben who was with us a couple of years ago. Ben will be working with our Dive school. We are lucky to have the use of his talents. May 06 - Mazeltov to Tamar who had a baby girl. Mother and daughter are both very well. May 06 - Shalom to Tamar who has left to have her baby. Though she was only with us for a few months we will miss Tamar's admin skills and we hope she will be able to return one day. April 06 -A sad goodbye to Walter the Lodge's maintenance manager. He has left Sodwana to go to work in Hluhluwe. We wish him well. We hope he will come back one day. Mar 06 - It's goodbye to Barbara from accounts. She has been with us for a year and has impressed everyone. We wish her well in her new undertaking. Feb 06 - Well done to Niki (and Peter). They have just had their second daughter Tyra, a lovely sister for Amber. Jan 06 - A very big congratulations to Greg and Bronwyn on the news that they are expecting their first baby in August. Jan 06 - A big Lodge welcome back to Peter Binney and Niki Hopkins. Peter and Niki were here about 5 years ago working under the Three Cities management era. Peter and Niki are the new Shareblock management couple and we are very happy to have them back. Peter and Niki will be having their second baby in February. Thanks definitely go to Sean and Wally who looked after the Lodge in the gap between Rob and Lorraine leaving and Peter and Niki arriving. Jan 06 - We are very proud to announce that all five Divemasters on our training scheme have passed and we have employed them all as full time Divemasters. Jan 06 - It's goodbye to Winnie from the Lodge Reception. She has left to go to University and we wish her well with her studies. Jan 06 - Shalom to Tamar who has joined us for a couple of months to work in the Dive Shop before she has her baby in May. Dec 05 - We were delighted that Andries was well enough to launch again in December. Sadly he was unable to work for long.. Andries was a founder member of the Home Tigers, the football team we support, and we again wish him well and hope he gets strong soon. Dec 05 - Well done and thanks to Debbie, the Hotel GM for helping to give us our best Season with the Hotel. Dec 05 - A Big change in personnel here in Sodwana. We are saying goodbye to Karl, Nina and Kirstie. Karl is off to sail yachts and Nina and Kirstie are off travelling together. We wish them all the best and thank them for their valuable time in Sodwana. Dec 05 - Goodbye to Karl - he has been with us for a long time and was very popular with his customers. We hope he enjoys his new life in the Red Sea. Nov 05 - Apparently Scuba Centre beat the Lodge in an "Activity Challenge" - we may be biased but we knew we would win. Jun 05 - Our best wishes go to Andries, our skipper, who is not very well and is unable to work at the moment. Andries has been with us since 2002 and we hope he gets well soon. Apr 05 - A change of job description for Sue from Admin and Accounts. Sue will now be handling the reservations as Debbie has moved upwards to become the Hotel's GM. Sue is a good "peoples person" and we are confident her change will be successful. Apr 05 - Welcome to Barbara Smith who will be replacing Maria in Admin and Accounts. created a new parking area outside the Dive Shop. Incorporated into Rob's (Lodge
GM) plan to try and separate Day Visitors and Lodge Residents, Rob has created
this new parking area which will help both the Lodge and the Dive shop. Mar 05 - Farewell to Mike, one of our Instructors. We wish him the best in his future endeavours and thank him for his successful time here at the Scuba Centre Mar 05 - Congratulations to Debbie Gunston who has just been appointed GM of the Sodwana Bay Lodge Hotel. Debbie will be working closely with us here at the Scuba Centre and we are very pleased at her appointment. Debbie will still be in charge of the reservations at the Lodge. Mar 05 - A very sad farewell to Thandi from the reception. Thandi has been with us for over ten years and we are sorry to see her go. We do however wish her every success in her future employment. Jan 05 - In our ongoing commitment to safety we have purchased four new Yamaha 85cc Motors and have commenced overhauling all our boats. Oct 04 - Many congratulations to John and Ntombi who were married on Saturday 30th October 2004. We wish them a happy life. Feb 04 - Sodwana Bay Lodge Hotel has just installed selected DSTV channels in all rooms as well as linking up with the Lodge's new phone system to have phones in all rooms. Jan 04 - Our very best Congratulations to Greg and Bronwyn who were married on 30th January this year. Mark and Margo were at the wedding and it really was a lovely affair. Greg and Bronwyn then went on Honeymoon for a week or so. We wish them much happiness. Dec 03 - A big welcome to Maria who has joined the Lodge to help with our accounts and admin. She was an integral part of our company and our success and we will miss her enormously. She has gone to work in Zanzibar and we know that they will be very lucky to have her. Heather will continue to be a partner in the business and will thus still be with us in spirit. Jan 2003 - A sad goodbye to Sydney who has been working at the Lodge Reception. Sydney started as a porter and has worked his way up passing various exams along the way. He is going to Hazey View in Mpupalanga. It will take up more of his time but we are confident that our staff will back him to the fullest extent. Mar 2002 - Mark the webmaster came back from an extended trip to the UK. Apologies for there being little WEB activity while he was away. Mar 2002 - A sad goodbye to Leigh and Bobby. It should be mentioned that Leigh was instrumental in saving our staff cat Findlay. We wish them both well. Talking of staff cats. The Dive Shop cat Howard, has a new mate called George. Mar 2002 - We are truly happy to welcome Andreas and Elphas as our first Zulu skippers. They have been skippers in Sodwana for a long time. As Bheki is part of their family and their sons play for our football team, it is almost a family take over but it is one we truly welcome. Feb 2002 - Heather our Admin manager actually went diving! (She also took Bheki with her - well done Bheki!). It was all due to her impending holiday in Indonesia, it was decided, after careful consideration, that it would be best if her diving ability was monitored. She passed the test with flying colours and went off on her holiday with a better than 50% of surviving. Feb 2002 - Titus shows his bravery in saving his friend in our dive pool. Details Jan 2002 - Goodbye to Johnny our compressor operator. Johnny has been in Sodwana for a long time and has gone to try his luck in Jo'berg. We wish him well in his new endeavors. We welcome Mandla to replace him. Mandla was with us in the old days and we are delighted to have him back. Jan 2002 - Hello to Megan, also an instructor.
