Welcome to the exciting world of Scuba Diving in
Sodwana Bay South Africa.
Come and dive with the whale sharks on the Northern Zululand Elephant Coast

Sodwana Bay is considered to be the premier dive site and is the only tropical dive site in South Africa.
Sodwana is one of the few places world-wide where dive sites are reached by weaving a path through breaking waves.
The reefs at Sodwana are believed to be the southern most coral reefs in the world and have a wide diversity of attractions.

Brief History

Sodwana Bay Lodge Scuba Centre was formed in March 1998 taking over from Sodwana Dive Retreat (SDR)

Including our time with SDR we have been the official dive concession for Sodwana Bay Lodge since 1993

Since 1998 we have been operating exclusively from the Lodge .

Incorporated into our fold is the Sodwana School of Diving formed in 1993. It was originally a NAUI facility.
We changed to PADI in 1996 and have worked hard to become first a PADI Dive centre and then a PADI 5 star centre. In April 99, We were extremely proud to become the first PADI 5 star IDC centre in Sodwana.

Dive Courses and Charters

We offer you a full range of PADI scuba courses and can give qualified divers a memorable experience with our full dive charter operation & Day Trips and Tours
We run daily dive charters to all  reefs in Sodwana.
Not only the main two mile reef but also to the outer reefs where the splendours of five, seven and nine mile reefs await you.
We also run night dives when conditions permit.

Owners

Owners Mark and Margo White,  Greg De Valle and Heather Forsman, have all been in Sodwana for a long time. Margo and Mark having owned Sodwana Dive Retreat which had a concession in the Natal Parks Board for nearly ten years. Before that Margo jointly ran one of the pioneer dive charters in Sodwana, International Dive Tours.
Heather left in 2003 to take up a position in the Rasnungwi Beach Hotel in Zanzibar where she is doing very well.

Managers

Greg runs the day to day affairs of the company with the excellent assistance of our valued staff.

Greg and Heather ran the company from March 1999 until Heather recently left to take up a position in Zanzibar.

In that time we have gone from strength to strength.

Greg and Heather had a very successful two year stint as the Resort Manager & Admin Manager of Sodwana Bay Lodge and have been involved in diving in Sodwana since 1994.

Heather continues to be a partner in the business.

We are a founder member of the
